The biggest Vietnamese martial art festival in history has kicked off in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, with the participation of 365 trainers and athletes from 24 countries and territories.
Vietnam will take part in the fifth World Vovinam Championship scheduled to be held in India from August 2-5.
Myanmar has introduced the Vietnamese martial arts Vovinam into the curricula of two national sport academies in Yangon and Mandalay, according to Quan doi Nhan dan (People’s Army) newspaper.
First introduced in 2001 in Africa, vovinam, a world-famous Vietnamese martial arts, has quickly become popular and is now being practiced by more than 22,000 people in Algeria.
