The Vietnam National Petroleum Corporation (Petrolimex) has decided to slash its retail price of kerosene by VND500 per litre, starting at 13.00 on March 5.

Petrolimex deputy director general Vuong Thai Dung says that a litre of kerosene now costs VND11,000 in Zone 1 (areas near ports where petroleum is imported) and VND11,200 in Zone 2 (areas far from these ports).

Petrolimex is the first petroleum business that has slashed the retail price of kerosene on the request from the Ministry of Finance.

This is the second time within a month the Ministry of Finance has asked petroleum businesses to lower the retail price following the downturn of the global kerosene market.

On February 20, businesses slashed the retail price of kerosene by VND500/litre to VND11,500.
