|Ly Son-Sa Huynh geo–park
Throughout the year, Quang Ngai province’s tourism sector welcomed more than 1.14 million visitors, including 99,000 foreign arrivals, earning revenue of VND1,100 billion in the process, an annual rise of 14 per cent.
The district of Ly Son island remains the province’s most attractive destination, welcoming approximately 265,000 visitors during 2019 and earning VND317 billion in tourism revenue.
With great potential for sea and island tourism, a number of travel companies have launched tours to various attractions throughout the region such as Ganh Yen and Sa Huynh.
Huynh Thi Phuong Hoa, Deputy Director of the Quang Ngai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated that through its geological resources, the locality has already prepared documents necessary to get Ly Son-Sa Huynh geo–park and the surrounding areas recognised as a global geo-park site by UNESCO.
Hoa added that along with improving the quality of services and human resources, localities have strived to strengthen their advertisement activities, attract additional investment in order to fully tap into the region’s potential for sea and island tourism, especially in the Ly Son-Sa Huynh geo-park and other neighbouring areas.
