Under the program, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism will co-ordinate efforts with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the Vietnam Tourism Advisory Council, Vietnam Airlines, and over 40 leading tourism firms to host an array of activities during their participation at WTM London 2019.
Most notably, the delegation from HCM City will initiate a range of tourism promotion activities by organizing an exhibition aimed at boosting knowledge about tourism destinations throughout Ho Chi Minh City, a "Happy Hour" program at the event’s Vietnamese booths, and meetings alongside international partners.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, Europe represents one of the most important and stable markets for the tourism sector of Vietnam in general and the southern metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City in particular.
Especially, the UK ranks the 11th among international markets sending tourists to Ho Chi Minh City.
WTM London 2019 is one of the largest international tourism fairs in the world and is held annually each November in the UK’s capital.
The fair provides a venue in which domestic and foreign businesses can come together to find partners, introduce their various products, and sign contracts.
Participation in the fair offers an opportunity for the southern city’s tourism industry to elevate its image and introduce fresh tourism products to both international businesses and tourists.
In addition, the city’s tourism sector is expected to organise a number of outstanding tourism events to increase interest among the European market, including hosting an Ao Dai festival and the Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair 2020 in the UK.
