In the 2019-2020 period, the #HelloVietnam program aims to create 30,000 short videos that give an introduction to the nation’s landscapes, culture, and people.
The first program entitled #HelloDanang will be deployed as from June 15 with the aim of providing visitors with an experience of a tour around the central coastal city of Da Nang for 24 hours.
The next program will be implemented in the northern province of Ninh Binh.
With 12 million users nationwide and more than one billion users worldwide, the TikTok app provides the program with a chance to utilise technology to boost its tourism content and introduce the country’s beautitul landscapes to both a local and foreign audience.
Dinh Ngoc Duc, head of the VNAT Tourism Marketing Department, said the VNAT had assigned the Vietnam Timeless Charm Magazine to connect to subsidiary units and other relevant agencies to effectively implement the scheme and operate the ‘Vietnam Tourism’ account on TikTok in order to promote Vietnam as a global tourism destination.
The “VietnamTourism” account on TikTok apps will introduce the nation’s unique range of tourism products and act as a fresh communication channel for the tourism sector which has been making great strides in implmenting the country's digital transformation under the government's guidelines.
#HelloVietnam is expected to help give a boost to domestic tourism in addition to enticing more foreign arrivals to the country, Mr Duc added.
