According to the administration’s recent telegram, 961 people will return to Hanoi and 734 will fly to Ho Chi Minh City.
The Ministry of Transport later requested that the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam organise domestic flights to bring home tourists stranded in Da Nang, the epicenter of the latest coronavirus outbreak.
Authorities of the three cities will now work closely to bring passengers from Da Nang to Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat International Airports, meeting requirements on COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control.
It has been suggested that air service providers move to exempt or reduce charges for flights that carry stranded tourists back to their various localities in accordance with the law.
Upon their arrival in either Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, the tourists must follow social distancing orders, i.e. remaining in isolation and undergoing a healthcare examination in order to curb the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
