Hoa Phat Group, the largest steel maker in the country, exported over 40,000 tonnes of construction steel in February, almost tripling that of the same period last year.
Vietnam’s exports to Brazil in the first 10 months of 2019 increased by 6.65 percent in value to reach 1.82 billion USD, according to preliminary statistics of the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
Hoa Phat Group has said it sold 226,000 tonnes of construction steel in May with a 3.5-fold increase in southern market, raising the five-month figure to 1.16 million tonnes, up 22.4 percent year-on-year.
Steel producers operating in the southern province of Binh Duong exported over 228,000 tonnes of steel products in the first half of this year, a year- on-year rise of over 63%.
Vietnam has exported 1.87 million tonnes of steel so far this year, up nearly 44.5 percent over the same period of 2010, announced Pham Chi Cuong, Chairman of the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA).
The domestic steel enterprises earned US$427 million from 550,000 tonnes of steel exported in the first five months of the year, up 244 percent in value and 250 percent in volume over the same period last year.
