The three stadiums which have been selected to hold the men’s football matches all use artificial turf. The chosen stadiums include the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, the University of Makati Stadium, and the Binan Football Stadium.
As a result, head coach Park Hang-seo will have to find a way for his team’s players to adapt to the conditions.
A total of 11 teams will compete in the men’s football during the SEA Games with the teams being divided into two groups. The qualifying rounds will begin on November 25 and conclude on December 5. The semifinals are scheduled to take place on December 7 with the gold and bronze medal matches slated for December 10.
As well as the men’s football event, eight teams will compete in the SEA Games’ women’s football which will divide all the teams into two groups. The qualifying rounds of the women’s football event will take place between November 28 and December 4. The semifinals are due to take place on December 6 while the gold and bronze medal matches will be held on December 9.
