|Vietnamese men’s national football team
The latest rankings indicate the national team have a total of 1,258 points, placing them as the 14th best team in Asia and the 94th best team in the world.
Due to the impact of the novel coronavirus epidemic, almost all professional football events globally have been postponed, resulting in little change to the respective positions of national teams in the rankings.
With regard to Southeast Asia, Vietnam lead the way as the region’s top team. The national team are followed by Thailand in second place who are ranked 113rd in the world with 1,178 points. The region’s third best team are the Philippines who sit at 124th in the global rankings.
Further down the list are Myanmar at 136th in the world, with Malaysia even further behind at 154th.
The latest rankings confirm that Japan are the leading team in Asia, ranked 28th in the world with a total of 1,500 points, closely followed by Iran, the Republic of Korea, Australia, and Asian Cup winners Qatar.
There has been no change at the top of the latest FIFA rankings with Belgium holding their position in first with 1,765 points, followed by France on 1,733 points. Completing the remainder of the top 10 teams are Brazil, England, Uruguay, Croatia, Portugal, Spain, Argentina, and Colombia.
