The information was released by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) at a meeting held in Hanoi on June 11, which saw representatives of the football teams draw lots to divide into groups.
VCCI Cup 2018 is the third of its kind organised by the VCCI. It aims to bolster business linkages and create opportunities for exchanges between organisations, companies, and entrepreneurs while looking to mark the 55th anniversary of founding the VCCI and Vietnamese Entrepreneurs’ Day (October 13) as well.
The 32 football teams, which are outstanding representatives from enterprises nationwide, are divided into two regions: the North (16 teams) and the South (16 teams). The rules for 7-a-side football are applied during this tournament. After their competitions in rounds, the two wining teams from the two regions will compete for the VCCI Cup in Hanoi.
The champion team will be honoured with a trophy, insignias, and an award worth VND30 million (US$1,320). The second – tier team will be granted with medals and an award worth VND20 million (US$880).
The team winning the third prize will receive medals and an award worth VND10 million (US$440). Of note, those with stylish football performance will be glorified with insignias and an award worth VND5 million (US$220).
The VCCI Cup 2018 competition will last until October 13.
