The matches include Vietnam’s tie against the UAE on November 14, followed by Vietnam taking on Thailand on November 19.
Information about the increased security was announced by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) on November 7 following a meeting where preparation work and measures to ensure the security of fans and those in attendance was discussed.
The VFF will co-operate with Hanoi police in order to ensure the security and safety of those in attendance before, during, and after the matches. Those who choose to burn flares or firecrackers at the stadium will face harsh punishments.
There has also been an update sent to police forces in the capital city regarding the activities of away fans by the VFF, meaning that additional protection measures will be implemented if necessary.

In addition, food and beverages sold during the games will be monitored by security forces and will have to meet hygiene and food safety standards.
