Ijiri Akira, the Japanese coach of the U19 team, has called 26 players into the squad to take part in the training camp in the RoK. The squad has been drawn from players from across the country, including 10 from Hanoi FC, seven from Vietnam Coal and Minerals FC, six from Ho Chi Minh city, two from Ha Nam province, and one from Son La province.
Before departing for the RoK, the team are currently taking part in training sessions in Hanoi.
The U19 women’s football team is scheduled to depart for the RoK on July 15. There, they will play friendly fixtures against the RoK’s U18 side, an U18 side from Shanghai of China, and an U18 side from Osaka of Japan on July 17, 18 and 19, respectively.
The friendly tournament will serve as good preparation for the Vietnamese women’s football team ahead of the AFC U19 Women’s Championship 2019 finals which is scheduled to take place in late October.
