Various tasks have been given to different ministers, with Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam being assigned with leading the national steering committee. The deputy heads of the committee are to be Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien along with Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hanoi Nguyen Duc Chung.

The steering committee will work to assist the PM in directing relevant agencies as they prepare for the start of the SEA Games 31 and the ASEAN Para Games 11. Aspects that require planning include the scale, timing, and venues, with Hanoi set to host the bulk of the games, while an organising board for the two events headed by Minister Ngoc Thien will be established.

The committee will be responsible for guiding relevant agencies and the organising board as they hold the two regional sporting events in accordance with regulations set by the Southeast Asian Games Federation, the ASEAN Para Sports Federation, as well as Vietnamese law.

It is therefore the responsibility of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to devise an overall plan on the preparation and organisation of the SEA Games 31 and the ASEAN Para Games 11.
