This year’s tournament is being organised by the Vietnam Football Federation and the Voice of Vietnam (VOV), with HDBank as the competition’s main sponsor.
A total of 12 teams will be competing in the championships which is to be divided into two separate stages.
The first stage is taking place from June 1 to June 9 in Khanh Hoa’s Nha Trang. This phase of the competitions will see the likes of Sanna Khanh Hoa, Tan Hiep Hung, Cao Bang, Quang Nam, Viet Football, and Hung Gia Khang Dak Lak compete in a round-robin format in order to decide which four teams will progress to the second stage of the tournament.
The second stage will then be held between June 14 and July 5 in Nha Trang city, followed by another part taking place from September 5 to September 26 in Ho Chi Minh City. This part of the competition will see the participation of the four winners from the first stage join the top six teams from last year’s National Futsal HDBank Championships, including Thai Son Nam, Sahako, Sanvinest Sanatech, Khanh Hoa, Kasiachian Sai Gon FC, Da Nang, and Thai Son Bac.
The tournament’s ultimate winners will be awarded a cash prize of VND500 million and will go on to represent Vietnam at the AFC Futsal Club Championships 2020.
The second-place team will be the recipient of VND200 million and will compete at the AFF Futsal Club Championships 2020.
In the openers, hosts Sanna Khanh Hoa overwhelmed Cao Bang 1-0, Viet Football trounced Hung Gia Khang Dak Lak 3-2, and Tan Hiep Hung beat Quang Nam 2-1.
