VOV.VN -Vietnam’s U22 team were held to a draw against Myanmar in a friendly fixture played at the Promotion Fund for Vietnamese Football Talent Football Training Centre on November 17.

Most notably, journalists were unable to attend the match with the friendly taking place behind closed doors.

The first half saw Myanmar start stronger and take the lead in the 25th minute through Myat Kaung Khant before Vietnam’s Ha Duc pulled a goal back ten minutes later.

In the second half, Myanmar’s Win Naing Tun put his side ahead once again in the 58th minute. This was met with an instant response from the Vietnamese team who struck an equaliser just three minutes later through forward Trieu Viet Hung.

Following an entertaining match, the friendly concluded with a score of 2-2.

The tie saw Park Hang-seo’s assistants take charge of the team and offered the coaching staff the opportunity to rotate the squad in order to discover the team’s best tactics for the upcoming matches to be played at the SEA Games 30.

Vietnam’s U22 squad will now travel to Ho Chi Minh City to take part in a training camp. Following the senior side’s crucial game against Thailand in Group G of the Asian zone’s second qualifying round for the World Cup 2022, head coach Park Hang-seo will meet up with the U22 squad.

The manager will be joined by five key players, including Quang Hai, Van Hau, Thanh Chung, Hoang Duc, and Tien Linh.

The Vietnamese team are scheduled to fly to the Philippines on November 22 before taking on Brunei in the opening match of the SEA Games 30 in Group B on November 25.
