World’s largest woolen blanket completed

The biggest woolen blanket in the world was completed in Da Lat city, Lam Dong province, on March 21.

It is made from 20,000 small knitted woolen patches and has a total area of 200sq.m.

Nearly one thousand people in Da Lat, Vietnam and Montpellier, France have been knitting the pieces for the blanket by hand since June 2009.

Now that it is finished, the record breaking blanket will be sold at auction in Hanoi later this year.

Proceeds from the auction will go to assist Agent Orange/dioxin victims in Vietnam.
