|VOV Director General Nguyen The Ky says VOV must renovate or it will be left behind
“Without renovation, we will be left behind,” Ky stressed during the meeting that was held with the participation of leaders from various VOV channels and relevant agencies.
“In the current competitive battle between mainstream and non-traditional information, including information by reactionary hostile forces, we will not master the ideological front unless we renovate ourselves. This is a very important task,” he said.
The Director General outlined how VOV is proud to be a unique Vietnamese media organisation that broadcasts programmes in 13 ethnic languages and 13 foreign languages.
With the paper, online news, and television broadcasts, he believes that VOV has all the resources to become a strong and professional multimedia group that is capable of providing its audience with the latest information, in-depth analysis, and commentaries about the biggest local and global issues across several platforms.
Ky went on to say that VOV will soon work on a project aimed at developing into a multimedia group to mark the organisation’s 75th anniversary this year (September 7).
He expressed his wish that the alliance of VOV journalists chapters will regularly organise refresher courses for members in order to train them in terms of political and professional competence, as well as professional ethics.
To mark the occasion, Ky presented the VOV Insignia to 23 journalists in recognition of their contribution to the broadcaster’s development over the years.
