VOV strengthens cooperation with Thai PRD

A delegation from the Thailand Government Public Relations Department (PRD) and the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT) visited Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) on May 14.

Receiving the delegation, VOV Deputy General Director Vu Hai praised the effective cooperation between the two sides and expressed appreciation for PRD’s assistance to VOV Television Channel (VOVTV) in completing a film on President Ho Chi Minh which will be screened on his upcoming 122nd birthday anniversary (May 19).

Over the years, VOV has signed cooperative agreements with NBT to exchange visits and experiences. Many VOV reporters, editors and technicians have been sent to study and work in Thailand.

At the first meeting of the joint committee between VOV and PRD in August 2009, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), creating a firm foundation for cooperative activities, such as exchanging programmes, information, visits, and training.

Currently, the MoU has been approved by the foreign ministries of the two countries and a VOV delegation is scheduled to visit PRD and sign the document in late May.

Established on May 3, 1933, PRD is a Government agency which supplies official information about Thailand.

PRD manages all public radio and television stations in Thailand, including NBT, the National News Bureau of Thailand (NNT), and Radio Thailand.
