At the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr Nguyen The Ky, member of the Party Central Committee and VOV President  emphasized the strategic importance of India and the long standing ties between the two nations, which their leaders lifted to a comprehensive strategic partnership. This has laid a firm foundation for VOV to set up its Representative Bureau in India - the 13th overseas representative bureau of VOV.

In 2020, Vietnam holds the UN Security Council non-permanent membership and the ASEAN Chair, which will provide more opportunities for the two countries to cooperate in dealing with regional and international issues, making significant contributions to promoting peace, stability and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region and the world as well.

According to VOV President Nguyen The Ky, the inauguration of VOV Representative Bureau in India promises to expand VOV network and disseminate accurate, up-to-date and useful information about Vietnam and India, enhancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations.

It also signifies the development and strategic vision of VOV - the most professional and modern multimedia agency in Vietnam with all four forms of media: radio, television, print and online.

VOV has 8 radio broadcasting channels, 16 television channels, two online newspapers, one print newspaper, and 13 overseas representative bureaus. It broadcasts in 12 ethnic minority languages and 12 foreign languages. VOV’s coverage reaches nationwide and many regions in the world.

Under the witness of Vietnamese Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh and Vietnamese and Indian delegates, VOV President Nguyen The Ky and Vietnamese Ambassador to India Pham Sanh Chau officially inaugurated VOV’s Representative Bureau in India.

Mr Nguyen The Ky entrusted  Chief Representative of VOV India Phan Thanh Tung with the mission to strictly abide by laws of Vietnam and India, well take directions from VOV leaders and the Vietnamese Embassy in India, and spare no effort in fulfilling the assigned duties, helping to consolidate traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and India.
