The information was released at a ceremony in Hanoi on January 11 to mark the 20th anniversary of VINAFPA.
The association further stated that it ranks 10th in total services supplied by IPPF members around the world, while placed 12th in services for minors and youngsters, 8th in abortion-related services and 14th in contraceptive methods and services.
Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Viet Tien applauded the achievements the association has recorded and affirmed that these have significantly contributed to the care for public health.
He said he hopes the association will continue to promote its achievements and carry out more activities to increase the effectiveness of reproductive healthcare services.
During the event, IPPF representatives highlighted VINAFPA’s efforts and affirmed its support for the association in the future.
Over the past two decades, the association has supplied services to 15.2 million people and delivered 150 million contraceptive products including condoms and morning-after pills. Its network now covers 49 out of the 63 provinces and cities nationwide and includes the participation of over 155,000 volunteers.
On the occasion, the association was honoured with a Labour Order, second class.
