Created in 2016 by a group of five engineers, Kobiton enables companies to test and assess the quality of mobile apps, optimising output and saving costs.
This year, Kobiton moved to Atlanta, the US, with 40 members, including more than 30 Vietnamese engineers.
The company plans to use this first US$3 million in external financing to expand sales and marketing to introduce Vietnamese technology products to reach the US’s US$50 billion mobile app market.
Mobile app development can be slow and arduous due to the use of outdated testing tools, said Kevin Lee, the company’s CEO.
“Our mission – and the reason for this fundraising – is to bring awareness of the role of quality assurance in mobile app development and help companies understand how Kobiton can help them deliver high-quality apps to the market quickly and at scale.”
Ha Ngoc Vinh Du, managing director of Kobiton Vietnam, said Kobiton is applying AI and machine learning for automation tests, quickly evaluating compatibility between apps and devices through problems, operations, user interface, and security.
“This will allow Kobiton to provide recommendations to businesses for better testing strategies.”
