Participants will train on photojournalism, layout and design, online journalism, investigative reporting and use of social media, said Lao Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Buangean Saphouvong in a speech at the opening.
The training will include special emphasis on best practices for journalists to connect with readers via social-networking, for instance the use of Twitter and Facebook, to find stories and promote their work.
The course is an advanced refresher course held pursuant to a cooperation agreement between the Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communication and Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism with the goal of instilling skills as well as share experience of journalists.
