Vietnamese soldiers’ remains repatriated from Laos, Cambodia

VOV.VN - The Central Highlands province of Kon Tum will hold a ceremony to rebury 21 sets of remains of voluntary Vietnamese soldiers and experts who laid down their lives during international missions in Laos and Cambodia.

The unknown remains were repatriated by Kon Tum’s Team 53 who had conducted search and collected the remains for the past five months during the ongoing 2019-2020 dry season.

Five sets were found in the Lao provinces of Sekong, Attapeu and Champasack, and the rest, in Ta Veaeng district in Cambodia’s Rattanakiri province.

All of the remains have been taken to Kon Tum’s Ngoc Hoi district, and they will be laid to rest at a solemn reburial ceremony to be hosted by local authorities.
