Cambodian National Assembly Secretary General Leng Peng Long emphasised that the donation will greatly alleviate the current shortage of medical supplies faced by the neighbouring country in their battle against the COVID-19.

During the hand-over ceremony, Cambodian NA Secretary General Long added that the gift being presented by the Vietnamese NA indicates the solidarity and friendship that exists between both sides, further contributing to the close relations enjoyed by the two countries.

Ambassador Minh stated that close co-operation between the legislatures of both countries at regional and international forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum, and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly have significantly contributed to the area’s peace and stability, in addition to boosting co-operation and development throughout the region and across the world.

The Vietnamese diplomat underscored the importance of international unity in the global fight against the pandemic, noting that the haul of face masks reflects the spirit of sharing that exists among both the Vietnamese NA and people in assisting Cambodia and its people to overcome the challenges brought about by the spread of the epidemic.

Ambassador Minh went on to congratulate the Royal Cambodian Government and its people on their great achievements in the cause of national construction and development, especially in relation to COVID-19 prevention and control over recent times.
