The visit is taking place at a time when the Vietnamese people are celebrating the 128th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19) while the Cuban people are marking the 123rd death anniversary of Cuban leader Jose Marti (May 19).
Phong hailed growing ties between HCYU and UJC over the past years with the signing of the 2018-2023 cooperation agreement, considering it an important milestone in bilateral relations and helping to further improve the efficiency of cooperation between Vietnamese and Cuban youths.
He suggested increasing activities to raise young peoples’ awareness of the Vietnam-Cuba special and long-standing friendship; actively sharing experience in youth-related activities; promoting innovation, science-technology and youth development projects as well as taking full advantage of information technology in national development.
González, for her part, thanked the HCYU Central Committee for supporting the UJC National Committee over the past years.
She said experiences acquired during the visit will help UJC fulfill its task of building youth guidance policies.
González also expressed her belief that Vietnamese and Cuban young people would be determined to realise cooperation contents in the new period.
