Vietnam clear of community infections, one more discharged

VOV.VN - The country confirmed no fresh COVID-19 cases of local transmission on July 1, and the overall number of fully recovered patients climbed to 336 or 94.6% after a 24-year-old Vietnamese man known as patient 335 was discharged from the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ho Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, 19 active patients are receiving treatment at medical facilities across the nation, with most of them in stable condition. Eight of the remaining cases in treatment tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus once or at least twice.

Among the total 355 infections so far, 215 returned from foreign countries and were kept in quarantine immediately upon arrival.

As many as 12,960 people coming into close contact with COVID-19 patients or returning Vietnam from pandemic-hit regions are being place into isolation throughout the country, including 96 at hospitals, 11,940 at other establishments and 870 at home or places of residence.
