The passengers onboard were children under 18 years old, workers with expired visas or labour contracts, the elderly, the sick, stranded tourists, students who have finished their learning but lack accommodation due to dormitory closure, and those living in difficult circumstances.

Vietnam’s representative agencies in the US actively assisted the citizens to complete necessary procedures before they boarded the plane.

Vietnam Airlines strictly carried out security, safety and epidemiological measures during the flight to protect the passengers’ health and prevent the spread of the virus.

After arrival, all passengers and crew members underwent medical supervision and were transferred to quarantine facilities in accordance with regulations regarding COVID-19 prevention and control.

More similar repatriation fights will be conducted in the time to come to bring home Vietnamese citizens stranded overseas based on their wishes and the country’s quarantine capacity.
