VFF launches press awards

(VOV) - On June 19, the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) hosted a ceremony in Hanoi to launch press awards for the cause of great national unity.

VFF President Nguyen Thien Nhan extended his congratulation to journalists and news agencies on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of Vietnam’s Revolutionary Press Day and highlighted their great contributions over the past years.

He also expressed his hope that entries to this press award will reflect the activities of authorities at all levels, and public movements attached to the cause of great national unity.

The entries must be in the form of print, radio, television or online journalism and highly public-oriented. The contest is open from June 21st to September 20th. 

On the occasion,Chairman of the Hanoi municipal People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao met with
with journalists and representatives of media agencies in Hanoi.

The press has reflected shortcomings and unresolved issues in the city and made proposals to resolve them, Thao said adding that the press is an important channel of information, which has given a lot of support to the management and implementation of the city’s political tasks. 

Hanoi authorities also hailed the great contribution made by journalists and press agencies to disseminating Party, State policies as well as reflecting the capital city's socio-economic and cultural activities.
