UNFPA workshop on Vietnam's population

(VOV) -The Party Central Committee and the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) co-organized a workshop on Vietnam’s population and sustainable growth in Hanoi on December 16.

Participants agreed that Vietnam’s population quality has improved, contributing greatly to national socio-economic development and the country's realization of MDGs.

A representative of the UNFPA said Vietnam is now at the important threshold to implement the 2016-2020 socio-economic development plan.

UNFPA pledged to support the Vietnamese government and share with Vietnam international experience concerning population policies.

UNFPA said it will support Vietnamese policy makers to help ensure the full exercise of rights including reproductive health for Vietnamese people.
