Two more COVID-19 patients receive discharge from hospital

VOV.VN - An additional two patients who had been suffering from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) were released from hospital in the northern province of Ninh Binh on May 4 after undergoing a successful treatment period.

The country’s 170th patient, a 27-year-old Vietnamese citizen, was first admitted to hospital on March 28.

Throughout their treatment at the medical centre, the patient tested negative for the COVID-19 multiple times, including on April 25, April 26, and May 2.

Furthermore, a 25-year-old female Vietnamese citizen who became the country’s 166th patent after being taken to hospital on March 26 was also discharged after making a successful recovery.

The patient had been working in Thailand before returning to Vietnam where she was placed into isolation upon arrival.

Since being placed into quarantine, she has gone on to test negative for the virus on four occasions.

Patient 166 is granted permission to leave hospital

As the final COVID-19 patients in Ninh Binh province leave medical facilities, they are currently enjoying stable health conditions and are showing no symptoms of the COVID-19, therefore meeting the criteria to be let out of hospital.

Following their discharge, both patients will be placed into quarantine in order to undergo a compulsory 14-day isolation period in an attempt to ensure that their symptoms do not flare up once more and to reduce the risk of community infection.

At present, a total of 10 patients have fully recovered in Ninh Binh province.
