Two COVID-19 patients released from hospital, taking total recoveries to 171

VOV.VN - An additional two patients infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) were discharged from hospital on April 15 after going on to make a full recovery from the virus, increasing the country’s total number of recovered cases to 171, according to health authorities.

The two discharged patients are a 34-year-old Vietnamese man, who was treated at the Can Tho Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases Hospital, and a 25-year-old male British citizen who received treatment at the Cu Chi field hospital in Ho Chi Minh City

The pair have since gone on to test negative for the virus three times in recent days and are currently in stable health condition after displaying no symptoms of the COVID-19, such as a fever, a cough, or shortness of breath.

After being discharged from the respective hospitals, both patients will be put into isolation in order to undergo 14 days of strict surveillance to ensure they show no signs of the virus reoccurring.

As of 4pm on April 15, the country has recorded 267 confirmed cases of the COVID-19, 171 of which have made a full recovery and have subsequently been discharged from hospital.
