Tropical depression forms in the East Sea

VOV.VN - The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting made an announcement on October 12 regarding the formation of a tropical low-pressure system in the East Sea, about 420km east of the Philippines’ Luzon Island.

The centre said the low-pressure will move west north west at a speed of 25km per hour, and is expected to strengthen into a storm over the next 24 hours.

Forecasters’ current advisory is that until 7am on October 13, the highest wind speeds will be near the centre of the storm and are predicted to reach 60-75km per hour, noting that the storm will move west at a speed of 15-20km per hour and is likely to gain strength over the next 48 hours.
