Of the total amount, VND131.4 billion (US$5.8 million) has been invested in low- and medium-voltage transmission lines and transformation stations. The remainder has been used for the upgrade of medium-voltage transmission lines to ensure the safety of the national power grid.
Deputy Director of the Tay Ninh Power Company Tran Thanh Liem said that since the outset of the year, the provincial electricity sector has put into use 17 power grid works, including more than 90km of medium-voltage lines; 57km of low-voltage lines; and transformation stations with a combined capacity of over 8,000 kVA at industrial and economic zones, and border districts.
The firm has fulfilled 55.26% of the target set for the whole year, he noted.
In addition, repairs and upgrades were also made to various power works to ensure safety from potential floods during the rainy season.
Since April 2018, investments worth over VND10 billion (US$440,000) have been spent on equipment and human resources to improve customer services and reduce incidents of power outages.
As of July 31, all communes, wards, and towns in the province were connected to the national grid. Some 292,710 households had access to electricity, accounting for 99.6% of the total number.
