Strengthening information sharing on drug crimes

Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security in coordination with the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on December 15 signed a memorandum of understanding on establishing the Asia-Pacific Information and Coordination Centre for preventing and combating drug crimes (APICC).

In RoK-ASEAN seminar, organized by the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office of the RoK in Bali, Indonesia, on June 27-30, the RoK side officially announced the establishment of the centre.  The RoK also confirmed it would provide financial assistance and perform the duties of the Centre’s Secretariat in organizing activities.

The centre is a forum to share information on drug crimes. It builds its own website, including information on drugs, strategy to combat the use of drugs and provide examples of typical cases.
