The National Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting Centre reported that at 16.00pm on August 1 the storm was positioned at 16.4 degrees North and 113.3 degrees East, with winds gusting between 62 and 88kph near its centre.

In the next 24 hours, it will move in the north-western direction and strengthen further to pack winds of between 89 and 102kph near its eye.
In the next 48-72 hours, the storm is expected to change its course to travel between north and northeast at a speed of 20kph.
It will make landfall on August 3, battering the coastal provinces with strong winds, high tidal surges, and heavy rains.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is to dispatch two missions to inspect storm prevention work in north-central coastal provinces.
