This year’s event marks the first time that the meeting has been held in Vietnam following the SEAMEO Secretariat working in collaboration with Duy Tan University to host the occasion.

During the two-day event, delegates will focus on sharing information, discussing future exchange programmes for students of SEAMEO member countries, assessing the implementation of the Technical Education and Vocational Training (TVET) Student Exchange Programme, whilst also talking about the action plan for the SEA-TVET network for the 2020-2023 period.

Furthermore, a discussion on Industry 4.0 and artificial intelligence will also take place during the meeting.

Established in November 1965 with headquarters in Bangkok, the SEAMEO is an organisation aimed at promoting co-operation in education, science, and culture throughout Southeast Asia.

Since its inception, education ministers frequently discuss the achievements of the 26 SEAMEO regional centres, with a major focus on financial reports, and updates on current activities.

Since 2013, the SEAMEO conference has been held biennially, with the conference’s host being rotated among member states.

SEAMEO members are Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.
