Korean doctors will also offer free medical check-ups for children who underwent the operation in 2018. In addition to this, underprivileged children will be given additional funding during their stay at the hospital.
Dr. Tran Tan Tai, deputy head of the Odonto-Stomatology Ward under the hospital of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, said that since 2006, Professor Shin Hyo-keun from Chonbuk National University, along with other Korean doctors and students, have performed surgery for 38 patients suffering from cleft palates.
The delegation has so far provided medical check-ups and treatment to nearly 450 patients and free surgeries to an additional 350 children with cleft palate in the central region.
By providing such treatment, it also offers an opportunity for both Vietnamese and Korean doctors to gain experience in the field together.
Local children will continue enjoying such services until July 20.
