As a result of this encouragement, the Overseas Vietnamese Association in France has seen Vietnamese people living in France raise EUR5,000 since April 5 in support of their compatriots back in Vietnam.

This comes after the International Association for the Development of Education in Vietnam (AIDEV) in France donated VND100 million on April 3 to help affected people in the homeland.

In a letter sent to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, AIDEV President Nguyen Huy Hiet affirmed that Vietnamese nationals living in France have a great affinity with their countrymen back in Vietnam, especially poor people and those who have been affected by the COVID-19 epidemic.
