Various representative Vietnamese agencies in the US have been active to support citizens in difficulty, including assisting people to get to the airport. Moreover, those who required special assistance such as elderly people over 80 years old, the disabled, and infants were all offered help by relevant agencies.
The Vietnamese Consulate General in San Francisco sent officials to the airport to assist Vietnamese nationals with necessary procedures before boarding the plane.
The duration of the flight saw Vietnam Airlines enforce strict measures to prevent the potential spread of the virus in line with regulations.
Upon arrival, all crew members and passengers on board the flight underwent extensive medical check-ups, before being transferred to quarantine facilities where they can undergo additional health checks to prevent the spread of the virus among the local community.
Moving forward, Vietnam will continue to arrange similar incoming flights aimed at bringing home Vietnamese citizens depending on future developments of the pandemic, the quarantine capacity of Vietnamese localities, and demand among Vietnamese citizens abroad.
