The repatriation flight was arranged by the Vietnamese Embassy in Angola in co-ordination with relevant agencies from both nations.

The majority of passengers onboard include children under the age of 18, elderly individuals, pregnant women, people suffering from illnesses, workers with expired contracts and no accommodation, and those facing challenging circumstances.

Ahead of the flight’s departure, the Embassy of Vietnam in Angola sent staff to provide assistance to citizens with all necessary procedures.

As a means of preventing the spread of COVID-19, a range of disease prevention measures were taken during the journey. In addition, upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, all members of the flight crew and passengers were given heath checkups and were immediately placed into quarantine in line with regulations regarding COVID-19 prevention and control.

Moving forward, Vietnamese authorities and overseas missions are poised to arrange additional repatriation flights aimed at bringing Vietnamese citizens home, with the schedule likely to depend on both demand and quarantine capacity.
