Over 100 pregnant women repatriated from Taiwan (China) in quarantine

VOV.VN - The Health Department of Dong Nai province said on July 8 it has received 237 Vietnamese citizens, including 109 pregnant women, repatriated from Taiwan (China) due to the COVID-19 epidemic one day earlier.

After undergoing a medical check-up at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the returnees were transferred to a concentrated quarantine facility set up at a police school in Dong Nai province’s Long Thanh district.

Among them, a woman at her 27 weeks pregnant who was suffering from a lower abdominal pain, and two other exhausted citizens were directly transferred to the Dong Nai Provincial General Hospital for close medical surveillance. They were tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus on July 8.

The same day, those in quarantine at the police school were also sampled for COVID-19 tests. The results are due to be unveiled the same day.

Any cases with positive results or at a high risk of infection will be moved to the Dong Nai Lungs Hospital for observation and treatment, said Tran Minh Hoa, deputy director of the Dong Nai provincial Centre for Diseases Control (CDC).

The local health sector also dispatched gynecologists and nurses to the concentrated quarantine facility to take care of pregnant women.

Dong Nai is scheduled to receive approximately 350 more Vietnamese citizens returning from Taiwan (China).
