A total of 75,337 people coming into close contact and returning from epidemic-hit areas are in quarantine for health monitoring, of whom 1,290 have been in concentrated isolation in hospitals. The remaining cases are undergoing self-isolation at home or at places of residence.
April 10 alone saw a total of 16 cases being released from hospital, bringing the total of recoveries nationally to 144.
According to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, 113 patients are being treated at 16 health facilities, including 70 at central hospitals, 39 at provincial hospitals, and 4 at district clinics.
So far 20 cases have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 once and 8 cases have tested negative for the virus twice.
Hanoi continues taking the top spot in the number of COVID-19 patients nationwide with a total of 106, followed by Ho Chi Minh City at 55.
Earlier on April 10, the Ministry of Health dispatched a special working group to help the capital city combat the raging COVID-19 pandemic.
With regard to the outbreak in the capital’s Bach Mai Hospital, the committee said the hospital has isolated 546 patients while 28,810 people who visited the facility after March 12 are being in quarantine in other localities.
Meanwhile, out of 4,466 people who visited Buddha Bar in HCM City, 18 are being quarantined, and 4,416 have tested negative for the deadly virus.
