This comes after the flight was arranged by relevant Vietnamese agencies, the Vietnamese Embassy in Brunei, and Lilama Corporation.

Passengers onboard the aircraft were mainly made up of Vietnamese workers with expired labour contracts who had been working for Lilama Corporation, in addition to holidaymakers and others facing difficult circumstances.

Ahead of the flight, the Vietnamese Embassy in Brunei sent officials to the airport in order to assist citizens with necessary procedures before boarding the aircraft.

Throughout the duration of the journey VietJet Air were able to strictly implement a range of security, safety, and epidemiology measures aimed at protecting the health of passengers whilst preventing the spread of the virus.

Upon landing at Can Tho International Airport, each of the passengers and crew members had their health checked before being taken to a concentrated quarantine centre in line with COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.

In striving to implement directions issued by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, relevant domestic agencies and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad are devising plans aimed at bringing Vietnamese citizens home once the domestic quarantine capacity allows.
