Speaking at the handover ceremony, Chairwoman of the My Lai Peace Foundation Truong Ngoc Thuy said she was happy to receive coordination from the three provinces in supporting AO/dioxin victims, saying that the organisation always joins hands with the community to provide assistance for AO/dioxin victims and their relatives.
She hoped that sectors and agencies of localities nationwide will continue to coordinate with the fund to help ease the pain of AO victims.
Chairwoman of the Association for Victims of Agent Orange (AO)/Dioxin of Bac Lieu Vo Thi Hong Thoai appreciated the fund’s contributions and assistance to local AO victims, hoping the locality will receive more support from the organsisation in the time to come.
According to Thoai, there are over 10,000 people exposed to AO/dioxin in Bac Lieu, but only nearly 2,000 of them are benefiting from support policies.
In the past ten years, the association raised over VND12.5 billion to help local AO victims and their families to cope with the difficulties in their lives.
