During the competition’s launching ceremony, Nguyen Anh Tuan, Standing Secretary of the Central Executive Committee and Head of the Steering Committee of the contest, emphasised that the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union is highly appreciative of the ten-year journey that the MOS World Championship has taken in Vietnam.
The championship offers a useful platform in which young people can contribute to promoting quality of teaching and learning informatics in line with international standards, thereby creating conditions which serve to nurture and develop young talents within the context of international integration.
The event also plays an important role in improving the office computer skills among young people, thereby helping to improve the overall quality of Vietnamese human resources.
Bui Anh Tuan said that for this year’s event, candidates will attempt three parts of exam content on the 2016 version of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint, as opposed to in previous years when entrants used the 2013 version. It is thought that the total prize money of the contest will reach billions of VND in value.
Following the conclusion of the competition, the three national champions will go on to represent the country at the World Championship final which is set to be held in Anaheim, California, the United States in early August 2020.
At the ceremony, the organisers honored the nation’s MOS ambassadors for their outstanding achievements during the MOS World Championship 2019 final which took place in New York City in August.
