The unknown remains had been searched, collected and repatriated by Kon Tum’s Team 53 during the six-month long dry season in both Laos and its neighbor Cambodia.

Of the total, 16 sets of the remains had been found in Ta Veng district of Cambodia’s Rattanakiri, while the remainder had been collected in Laos’ Sekong, Attapeu and Champasak provinces.

The ceremony was held solemnly with the participation of leaders of Military Zone 5 High Command, Kon Tum province and its Ngoc Hoi district.

Participants strictly followed health guidelines such as wearing face masks, using hand sanitizer, and keeping a 2m distance from each other.

Laos and Cambodia could not send delegations to the ceremony due to the novel coronavirus epidemic.
