Worthy of note is one titled “Meeting with President Ho Chi Minh”, the last foreign film recording of President Ho Chi Minh.
In his speech at a film handing over ceremony on October 19 in Hanoi,Vu Nguyen Hung, Director of the Vietnam Film Institute said during the fiercest periods of the anti-US war, foreign friends came to Vietnam to film its struggles for justice. The films showed the world different aspects of Vietnam’s struggles against an unjust war.
The Joris Ivens Archives Institute also gave the Vietnam Film Institute 2,000 pages of documents and 140 photographs and banners collected by Dutch film producer Joris Ivens.
All the films are ensured by copyrights and will hit Vietnam cinema in the near future.
