The event was part of Finland’s presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2016.
The participants exchanged views and discussed measures for effective cooperation, helping to successfully implement the 6th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) on water in the 2030 agenda for sustainable development.
In a speech, Vietnam Ambassador to Finland,Bui Van Khoa, said Vietnam wants to expand cooperation with Northern European countries in water management.
The country called for the provision of preferential credits to support enterprises in water supply and the drainage and sanitation sectors.
He also asked them to transfer technology and share experience in waste-water treatment and the management of urban water supplies and drainage systems.
A ministerial level delegation from Sweden is due to visit Vietnam later this year to discuss building smart cities.
