|The COVID-19 infected receptionist is discharged from hospital in Khanh Hoa
The decision was signed off on February 26 by Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen with the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province being responsible for ordering the locality’s relevant units to continue to take drastic measures to prevent the spread of the epidemic, in line with the Law on Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases 2007.
Since the first emergence of an COVID-19 case was confirmed in the province on January 17, Khanh Hoa has so far recorded no new cases.
This comes following the province deploying a string of measures aimed at preventing the spread of the disease in line with regulations of the health sector over the past 40 days.
The only recorded case of an COVID-19 infection in Khanh Hoa has been a 25-year old female receptionist in Loc Tho ward of Nha Trang city.
The receptionist came into close contact with two Chinese nationals who had been the nation’s first confirmed cases of the COVID-19 infection.
The two Chinese nationals, who are father and son, went on to be successfully treated at Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City before being discharged from hospital.
After undergoing a period of intensive treatment at the Khanh Hoa Hospital of Tropical Diseases, the receptionist also made a full recovery and was released from hospital on February 4.
Elsewhere, Thanh Hoa has also only recorded a single COVID-19 case since January 24. Localities of Thanh Hoa, Khanh Hoa, and Vinh Phuc have implemented a range of strict preventive measures in a bid to combat the epidemic.
