On July 31, Major General Nguyen Quoc Dung, commander of army corps 11 of the Ministry of Defence, handed over VND1 billion to the Lao Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare (MLSW).

MLSW Deputy Minister Baykham Khattiya, thanked the Vietnamese Party, State and people, reserving special praise for agencies and businesses for their support in the recovery effort from the great losses caused by natural disasters in Laos.

Major general Hoang Quang Huong, chief representative of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security in Laos, also presented US$50,000 to Lao Minister of Public Security Somkeo Silavong to help victims of the dam collapse to stabilise their lives as soon as possible.

Vietnamese localities bordering Attapeu province have provided relief supplies to Lao victims of the floods, with VND300 million in cash and essential goods worth VND100 million from Gia Lai, and VND550 million and necessities worth VND200 million from Kon Tum.
